Meet Chef Bri

"Born and raised in a small town in NJ, I grew up baking with my mom. We used to have a cookie party every year around Christmas, where we would bake hundreds of cookies to give away for gifts and donations. Even with that being my favorite childhood memory, I  didn't just wake up one day and decide "I want to make cakes for a living!"

When I was 18, I moved down to Miami with the goal to become a Marine Mammal Trainer. When that didn't work out, I tried to turn my hobby into a career and began cosmetology school. I quickly realized that while it was fun, I really only enjoyed doing my own hair. I left school, moved back home to NJ, and was on the hunt for a new career. In the meantime, I was steadily waitressing. The restaurant industry always called to me. I was constantly pulled back in, no matter how many times I tried to walk away.

It wasn't until I saw a commercial for a trade school that I really considered becoming a chef.

I have always loved baking. The science of mixing and measuring until you get the recipe just right, turning ingredients from boxes and bags, into a delicious masterpiece, creating something beautiful from simple ingredients. So I started culinary school, graduated in 2016, and I have been professionally baking ever since.

My original recipes are a combination of what I picked up over the years, what I learned in culinary school, and my family recipes. Anyone can bake, but it takes someone special to make something that you can taste the love baked inside. This is the reason I only bake from scratch. I have spent years working on my recipes and look forward to adding more. It intrigues me. It drives my passion and fuels my dreams. I'm now a mom and a wife, and I love being able to share those experiences with my new family. We will be starting our own cookie party in the next few years!

That's my story, and I would be honored to add you to the story of The Purple Sprinkle."
